Terry Lynn Chappell Cato, born November 6, 1947, in Chester, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on October 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Juanita and Phil Chappell. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2026, from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at Barron’s Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Chester Memorial Gardens, with Michael P. Shaffer officiating.
Terry graduated from Chester Senior High School and went on to attend cosmetology school. After working as a licensed cosmetologist for a brief time, she began a career at the Springs Katherine plant, where she handled payroll and supported the members of the shop.
Above all, Terry loved God and her family. She made it a point to bring loved ones together whenever she could, and her kind, sweet spirit touched everyone who knew her. She was an avid Fenton glass collector and loved shopping with anyone willing to join her.
Terry was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Charlie Wayne Cato Sr., and her granddaughter, Kayla Shantae Mobley, who held a deeply cherished place in her heart.
She is survived by her longtime significant other of more than 15 years, Terry E. Dallas; her daughters, Lisa Blake (Bob) of Okatie, South Carolina; Trudy Cato of Fort Lawn, South Carolina; and Shannon Cato of Lake Wylie, South Carolina; and her son, Charlie “Chuck” Wayne Cato Jr. (Tina) of Richburg, South Carolina. Also dear to Terry was Lesley Wade (Keith), who was like a daughter to her and an essential part of her life.
Terry is also survived by ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored; her brothers, Phil “Butch” Chappell Jr. (Beth) of Beaufort, South Carolina, and Chris Chappell (Phyllis) of McConnells, South Carolina; and her sister, Trudy Osteen of Florida. She also leaves numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, whom she loved as brothers and sisters.
