Chester Mrs. Sybil Hill Roof, 85, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at her home.The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Woodward Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Hinson officiating.Interment will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, June 28, 2013, at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC and other times at the home at 120 Hinton St., Chester, SC. Mrs. Roof was born January 21, 1928 in Whitmire, SC and was a daughter of the late Robert Hill and Rachel Williams Hill.She was a graduate of Chester High School and received two Associate degrees from Midland Tech.She was retired from Springs Industries and later worked as medical records supervisor at Baptist Hospital in Columbia.Mrs. Roof was a member of Woodward Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Margaret Roof of Lexington, Emma Abercrombie and husband Harry of Chester and Debra Kelly and husband Mickey of Great Falls; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Rossie Hill of Ocean Springs, Mississippi.She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Davis Roof.
