Sophie Paulette Mcbrayer Whitehead

Mrs. Sophie Paulette McBrayer Whitehead, 78, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025 after a long illness  at the home of her son surrounded by her children.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the home of Ike and Cheryl McBrayer, 147 Saluda St, Chester, SC 29706.

Mrs. Whitehead was born July 20, 1946 in Chester, SC and was the daughter of the late Elizabeth "Tish" McBrayer and Hubert McBrayer and was married to the late Tommy Whitehead of Chester, SC. She was a graduate of Lewisville High School.  Paulette was known for her love of restoring furniture, sewing and many other crafts which she busied herself with after retiring from Chester Telephone Company. She was a member of Chester ARP church.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth Whitehead (Jason) of Summerton, SC, one son, Stacey McFalls (Tanya) of Myrtle Beach, SC, stepdaughter, Bonnie Frazer Bishop (Barry) of Newberry, SC and stepson, Tom Whitehead (Vik) of Marietta GA. four grandchildren, Danielle McFalls, Drew McFalls , Madison McFalls and Bradley Bishop and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Annette Strickland (Johnny) and Lou Osborne both of Chester, SC; three brothers, Michael McBrayer (Brenda) of Edgemoor, SC, Ike McBrayer (Cheryl) and Mitch McBrayer (Pam) both of Chester, SC., half-sister, Nancy Meredith of Manchaca, TX; special friend, Eddie Railey whom she loved as a son and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her son Kenneth "Kenny" McFalls.
