Sid William Wylie

Sid William "Billy" Wylie, 80, died Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Hospice and Community Care in Rock Hill. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, August 18, 2025, at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating.  Interment will follow in Uriel Presbyterian Church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Monday at Barron Funeral Home.

Mr. Wylie was born May 5,1945 in Chester, SC and was a son of the late Gill Thomas Wylie and Sarah Cordon Varnadore.  He was a graduate of Lewisville High School and retired from Springs Industries as a supervisor having worked at the Eureka Mills and Katherine Plants.  Billy was also a cattle farmer and was owner and operator of Cedar Grove Mobile Home Park.  He was an accomplished and distinguished business man.  Billy enjoyed country music, was a gun enthusiast and an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.  He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by one son, Ronald Clay Pierce, Sr. of Union, SC; three grandchildren, Chris Pierce of Lockhart, SC, Ronnie Pierce, Jr. of Sharon, SC and Ronda Pierce of Union, SC; four great grandchildren, Dallas, Dillon Sidney and Rylee; a niece Kim Hunnicutt (Gerald) of York, SC; and a great nephew, Jake Sanders (Beth) of Chester, SC.  In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his wife of over 49 years, Colleen McCarley Wylie.
