Shirley Jean Anderson Bell

Shirley Jean Anderson Bell passed peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2025, at home surrounded by her children.  A graveside service will be held for family and friends at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Chester Memorial Gardens.

Shirley was born November 24, 1941 in Chicago, IL and was a daughter of the late Robert Oliver Anderson and Irene Moisan Browning.

She leaves behind her daughter, Susan J. Bell; son, William A. (Buddy) Bell (Deana Bell), and daughter Sheryl A. Bell (Rick Neighbors); grandchildren, Nicholas (Nick) Dietz (Paige Lee), Brandon Dietz (Megan Cantu), Wilson Bell (Abigail), Colin Bell (Hannah) and Chelsea Burgher (Joel).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William H. (Bill) Bell; a sister, Jane Meister of Bourbonnais, IL and a brother, Robert O. (Bobby) Anderson Jr. of Peoria, AZ.

Shirley enjoyed a long and fulfilling career at the Chester Metropolitan Water & Sewer District, retiring after many years of dedicated service. In her free time, she cherished moments with her family and engaged in various hobbies, including competitive archery, camping, crocheting, knitting, and working jigsaw puzzles.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to her exceptional care team at Agape who became an extension of the family and provided compassionate care for their beloved mother.
