CHESTER Mrs. Shirley Bailey Helms, 74, died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the Chester Regional Nursing Center.The funeral service will be 3:00 Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. David Brannen officiating.The interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 1:30 ? 3:00 PM Wednesday at Barron Funeral Home. Mrs. Helms was born April 3, 1937 in Rock Hill, SC and was a daughter of the late Perry A. and Victoria Smith Bailey.She graduated from Chester High School as class Valedictorian in 1955. She was formerly the manager of Pundt?s Restaurant, and later was manager of Chester School cafeteria.Mrs. Helms also previously worked at Belk?s in the men?s department and also at First Citizens Bank as a teller.She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church and the widow of Bill ?Heavy? Helms. She is survived by one daughter, Deanna Johnson Winchester of Rock Hill, SC; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one brother, Perry Bailey of Chester.Mrs. Helms was preceded in death by two sons, Gene Winchester and Darren Winchester and one brother Troy Bailey.
