Mrs. Sarah Shirley McDaniel, 94, died Sunday, July 01, 2012 at Chester Regional Nursing Center. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Chester Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Clay Waldrip and Reverend Mike Black officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 on Tuesday at Barron Funeral Home. Born May 30, 1918 in Fairfield County, Mrs. McDaniel was a daughter of the late Charles Rawls Shirley and Janie McKeown Shirley. She was a graduate of Blackstock High School and a member of Leeds Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher. Mrs. McDaniel was the widow of the late John Wilson McDaniel, Sr. She is survived by a son, John W. McDaniel, Jr. and wife Marty of Chester; two daughters, Sara M. Fleming and husband Jim of Lancaster, and Ann M. Sanders and husband Billy of Chester; seven grandchildren, Page M. Martin and husband Chuck, Trey McDaniel, Lauren E. McDaniel, Rebecca A. Fleming, Kathryn F. Casserly and husband Joe, Anna S. Crockett and husband Derek, and Allison Sanders; three great grandchildren, Taylor Walker, Leah Crockett, and Turner Martin.
