Chester,SC?Sara Kennedy Magill Tyler, 87, died peacefully Friday, May 4, 2012 at Presbyterian Community in Lexington, SC. A Memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Purity Presbyterian Church with Reverend Trey Hegar officiating. The family will receive friends at the home, 145 Park Drive, Chester on Tuesday form 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be private. Mrs. Tyler was born in Chester, SC on September 29, 1924. She was a daughter of the late Dr. William K. Magill and Sara Logan Magill. She was a graduate of Chester High School, Duke University and Physical Therapy College. Mrs. Tyler was retired from Chester County Regional Hospital as a Physical Therapist and was a member of Purity Presbyterian Church where she was a former elder, choir member and food pantry worker for the Chester Ministerial Association. Her passions weregolf, Duke basketball, ACC sports and spending time with her family and friends. Sara was the widow of Julian Lewis Tyler. She is survived by one daughter, Sara Tyler ?Sally? Shive of Rock Hill, SC; two sons, William L. Tyler of Cincinnati,OH and John H.B. Tyler of Jacksonville, FL; one step-daughter Julia Tyler Bird of Marlinton, W.VA; nine grandchildren, Sara Shive, Beth Hunt, Edith Allin, Richard McGrath, Harrison Tyler, Robert Tyler, Julian Tyler, Ben Tyler and Maggie Tyler and eight great-grandchildren.
