CHESTER - Mrs. Sara Elizabeth Kelly Darby, 85, entered our Lord's presence on March 6, 2015. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, March 9, 2015 at Zion Presbyterian Church in Lowrys with Reverend Al Ward officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Zion Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, March 9, 2015 from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM in the fellowship hall of the church. Born on March 12, 1929 in Winnsboro, S.C., Mrs. Darby was the daughter of the late Ernest Linwood and Cornell Boulware Kelly. She graduated from Chester High School and the York County Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Darby was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years F. Guy Darby, Sr. Together Mr. and Mrs. Darby were lovingly devoted to an agricultural lifestyle and rearing their children. This devotion is evident today in the future generations. She is survived by daughter, Sandra Darby Poole (Larry) of Merritt Island, Fl; son, F. Guy Darby, Jr. (Cindy) of Chester, S.C.; daughter, Kelly Darby Frazier (Joe) of Raleigh, N.C.; and daughter, Harriet Darby Palecek (Steven) of McConnells, S.C. She is also survived by her sisters, Ernestine Kelly Tyson of Orangeburg, S.C.; Patricia Kelly Bowman (Tony) of North Charleston, S.C.; and brother, Dr. Wray Smith (Carol) of Clemson, S.C. She has 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Darby was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Marie Kelly and Lamar Judy and brother-in-law, Steven Eason Tyson, Jr., all of Orangeburg. While Mrs. Darby was involved in social activities, she was mostly devoted to her faith and family through her Bible study, church, and activities for her children. Pallbearers will be Logan Jackson Frazier, Thomas Gayle Frazier, Todd Guy Frazier, James Kersh Peterson, Frank Merritt Wilkerson, III, Wesley Taft Drummond,Reed Henton Rogers, Brian Mitchell Brigulio, Joshua Mark Palecek and Benjamin Caleb Palecek.
