Chester: Mr. Samuel Robert Young, 76, died May 11, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville, NC.The funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Wilksburg Baptist Church with Rev. Skeet Thomas and Rev. Seth Johnson officiating.The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Wilksburg Baptist Church. Born March 9, 1942 in Chester County, SC, Mr. Young was a son of the late Samuel J. and Bertha Gaston Young.He was a graduate of Chester High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.He was retired from Wilks Logging and also Fieldcrest Cannon.Mr. Young was a member of Wilksburg Baptist Church. He is survived by five children, Beverly Love and her husband Robert of Chester, SC, Donna Barnhill and her husband Jeff of Alpharetta, GA, Anthony YoungandAndrew Young and his fiancé Stacy Childers all of Chester, SC ,and Autumn Young of Rock Hill, SC; seven grandchildren, Robert Love, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Greenville, SC, Anna Love of Valdese, NC, Ethan Love of Chester, SC, Jeffrey Barnhill and his wife Kristin of Seattle, WA, Rachel Pfeiffer and her husband Andrew of Dahlonega, GA, Blake Barnhill of Orlando, FL and Julian Young of Rock Hill, SC; three great grandchildren, Remington Buchanan, Elizabeth Barnhill and Reggie Pfeiffer; sister-in law,Myrtis Young and neice Rhonda Gibson and her husband Johnny all of Lockhart, SC, his close friend Joyce Carter of Chester, SC and his faithful dog “Mini”.Mr. Young was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Young and Lamar Young.
