Mr. Samuel Thomas Woodson III died Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Novant Health Presbyterian Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Freeman, David Bartholomew and Rev. Jimmy Lambert officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Barron Funeral Home. Mr. Woodson was born July 20, 1951 in Burlington, NC and was a son of the late Samuel Thomas Woodson, Jr, and Dorothy Rainey Woodson. He was a graduate of Jackson Memorial High School and Middle Georgia State University. Sam was an engineer with Woodson Steel Services and was an accomplished musician and avid car enthusiast. He is survived by his wife of over twenty-one years, Corliss Woodson; five children, Tommy Woodson of Lancaster, SC, David Woodson (Angie) of Wilkesboro, NC, Daniel Woodson (Christine) of San Jose, CA, John Woodson of Denver, Colorado and Samantha Woodson of Fort Lawn, SC; fourteen grandchildren; one brother, Damon Woodson (Jennifer) of Macon, GA; In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Perry Woodson.
