Chester Rev. Samuel Javin Goude, 89, died Saturday, March 2, 2019, at his home.A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 7, 2019, at Fountain of Life Church of God with Pastor Steven Goude and Pastor Don Goude officiating.Interment will be private.The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, March 6, at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Rev. Goude was born September 18, 1929 in Camden, SC and was a son of the late James Murray Goude and Rena Jolly Goude.He attended Camden High School and Bible college.He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean war.Sam was a retired Church of God Pastor and early in his ministry, he was a well-sought-after evangelist, having served in the ministry for over 74 years.Rev. Goude was a member of Fountain of Life Church of God.He enjoyed fishing as a past time. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Cora Johnson Goude; two sons, Stephen Anthony Goude (Rose) of Big Spring, Tx. and Jeffery Dean Goude (Brenda) of Phoenix, Az.; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Don Goude (Darlyn) of Camden, SC; two sisters, Frances Hewitt and Betty Jane Proctor both of Camden, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.Rev. Goude was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Samantha Nicole Goude; three brothers; and four sisters.
