Chester Mr. Sam Edward Collins, Jr., 46, died Monday, August 27, 2018 at Carolina Medical Center Main in Charlotte, NC. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 31, 2018, at Fountain of Life Church of God with Rev. Ronald Chavis officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday August 31, 2018 at Fountain of Life Church of God. Mr. Collins was born July 9, 1972 in Chester, SC and was a son of the late Sam E. Collins, Sr. and Barbara Wilson Collins. He was a graduate of Chester High School and was employed with SCDOT.He was a member of Fountain of Life Church of God. Mr. Collins was an avid Carolina Gamecock Fan. He is survived by his wife of over five years, Christie Madden Collins; one daughter, Jordan Collins of Chester; one son, Justin Collins; two step children, Gracein Holly and Anna Holley; one granddaughter, Kinsley Mobley, all of Chester; three sisters, Cindy Ashworth (Andy) of Edgemoor, Pam McBrayer (Mitch), Tracey Simpson (Kane) of Chester; numerous nieces and nephews. In honor of Sam,the family is requesting gamecock attire or gamecock colors for the memorial service. Memorials may be made to Relay for Life C/O Christy Wilburn P.O. Drawer 10 Chester, SC 29706.
