Sadie Gaston Melton

CHESTER: Mrs. Sadie Lee Gaston Melton, 94, died Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at her residence.The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 at West Chester Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Logan and Rev. Jeff Gulish officiating.The interment will be at Wilksburg Baptist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm Friday in the sanctuary of the church. Born September 10, 1919 in Chester County, SC, Mrs. Melton was a daughter of the late George and Violet Love Gaston.She attended the schools of Sharon, SC and was retired from Chester Sportswear as a seamstress.She was a member of West Chester Baptist Church where she was active in the life of the church. She is survived by one daughter Laura M. Rist of Chester; four sons John Robert Melton and his wife Mary Ann, Richard L. Melton and his wife Crystal, Tommy G. Melton and his wife Adrene and Lonnie O. Melton all of Chester; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vergie Tracy and Susie Gregory both of Union, SC and numerous nieces and nephews.
