Chester, SC: Ruth Stevenson Stewart, 90, died Saturday, July 20, 2019 at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill, SC. A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Monday July 22, 2019 at Barron Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Shaffer officiating. The family will receive friends also Monday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Barron Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Chester Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Stewart was born in Fairfield County, SC on May 22, 1929 and was a daughter of the late George Washington Stevenson and Francis Eunice Stevenson. She was a graduate of Monticello High School and a member of First Baptist Church, Chester.For many years Ruth was a floral designer having worked with several local florist. She was a friend to many and loved by all. Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her husband Julian L. Stewart and many brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Barnette(Phillip) of Great Falls, SC and her sons Larry Stewart(Linda) of Chester, SC and Donnie Stewart(Wendy) of Garden City, SC; seven grandchildren, Shane, Casie, Melanie, Brian, Jeff, Chad and Travis; fifteen great-grandchildren ; numerous nieces and nephews and her brother Jerry Stevenson (Mary Ann) of Chester, SC.
