Ruth Dameron Ramsey

Chester:Ruth Dameron Ramsey, 92, died Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Chester Regional Medical Center. A graveside service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Chester Memorial Gardens with Reverend Trey Hegar officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service in the fellowship hall of Purity Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Ramsey was born in Bessemer City, NC on February 11, 1918 a daughter of the late Ira Craig Dameron and Lela Watts Dameron.She graduated valedictorian of her class at Bessemer City High School, was a member of Purity Presbyterian Church and was retired from Chester Sportswear as a seamstress. She was the widow of Frank Ramsey a former Fire Chief for the city of Chester. Mrs. Ramsey is survived by two brothers, Henry W. Dameron of Kings Mountain, NC and Harry C. Dameron of Virginia and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Larry Frank Ramsey. Memorials may be made to Purity Presbyterian Church, PO Box 278,Chester, SC 29706.
