Ruth Hefner Lee

Mrs. Ruth Hefner Lee, 97, died Friday, December 12, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, December 15, 2025 at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Clint Carter officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends form 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM also Monday at Barron Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lee was born February 3, 1928 in Mt. Airy Georgia and was the daughter of the late William Newton Hefner and Anna Magdalene Cunningham Hefner. She was a graduate of the schools of Mt. Airy and worked as a bookkeeper for City Drug and as a clerk for Charter Communications. Ruth was a former member of First Church of the Nazarene Chester where she taught the mothers Sunday School class for over 35 years and was elected their Sunday School teacher of the year. She was known for her deep faith and love for her Lord and Savior. Ruth was a member of Cedarwood Community Church in Waterloo, SC.

She is survived by four grandchildren, Chris Wissinger, Shawn Stephenson, Mollie Hawkins, and Courtney Blanchett; thirteen great- grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren and her daughter-in-law, Claudia Lee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, David F. Lee; daughter, Sandra Diane Wissinger; son, David Fred Lee, Jr.; grandson, Timothy A. Wissinger; son-in-law, Gary L. Wissinger and nine siblings.
