Rufus Williamson

Mr. Rufus Williamson, 86, died Thursday, December 18, 2025, at MUSC Chester Nursing Center.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 22, 2025, at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Black officiating.  Interment will be private.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Monday at Barron Funeral Home.

Mr. Williamson was born August 17, 1939 in Nichols, SC and was a son of the late Guthry Allard Williamson and Retha McDaniels Williamson.  He was a graduate of the GED program through Duke Energy and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.  He retired from Duke Energy as a journeyman.   Mr. Williamson loved to fish and hunt and be outdoors.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.

He is survived by his wife of over 53 years, Constance Fowler Williamson; four children, Rudy, Donald, Michael and Rebecca; four sisters, Dolly Hooks, Nellie Monroe, Martha Sarvis and Harriett Jordan; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Williamson; a daughter, Deborah Williamson; his brothers, Sonny, Wayne and Douglas Williamson; and sisters, Mary Sue Elliott and Pearl Wilson.
