Ruby Jean Wilburn Wages

CHESTER, SC: Mrs. Ruby Jean Wilburn Wages, 83, died Monday, April 18, 2016 at her home.The funeral service will be 4:00 PM Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Sullivan officiating.The interment will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Wesley United Methodist Church. Born January 7, 1933 in Chester, SC, Mrs. Wages was the daughter of the late Fleming Douglas Wilburn and Sadie Odell Worthy Wilburn.She attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from Springs Industries as a weaver.She was a charter member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church where she served on the hostess committee. Mrs. Wages was previously a member of St. James Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Harold Leroy “Shorty” Wages and one brother, Robert Harold “Willie” Wilburn. She is survived by two children, Harold Leroy “Hal” Wages, Jr. and his wife Rickey of Chester, SC and Debra Wages “Debi” Layton and her husband Mike of Chester, SC; six grandchildren, Bert Layton, Haylee Wages, Candice Dellinger, Shannon Jacobs, Randi Leigh Rogers and Eric Faulkenberry whom she loved as her grandson all of Chester.
