CHESTER: Ruby Mayberry Robbins, age 89 of 1214 Williamsville Church Road, died Saturday at Chester Regional Nursing Center. Mrs. Robbins was the widow of James E. Robbins. Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Chester First Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Waldrep and Rev. Gloria Robbins Davis, retired United Methodist Minister; SC United Methodist Conference. Interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Robbins was born in North Wilkesboro, NC a daughter of the late Reece Morris and Iduma Shumaker Mayberry. She grew up in Statesville, NC and moved to Chester after her marriage in 1948. She was a retired secretary for Springs Industries. A member of First Baptist Church, she was a chairman of the flower committee and was a member of the communion committee, the choir and hand bells. She was also a member of Leroy Springs Golden Age Flag Line. Mrs. Robbins was a graduate of Scotts High School in North Wilkesboro and Kings Business College. Surviving are one daughter, Mary Bell of Chester, SC, one son, James Robbins and wife Deborah of Myrtle Beach, SC, four grandchildren, Richard and Brian Bell and Sarah and Amanda Robbins. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Leon Mayberry. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 PM Tuesday at Barron Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to: First Baptist Church, P.
