Roy Leon Lee

Roy Leon Lee, 88, died Sunday February 2, 2025, at his home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Chester Memorial Gardens. Roy was born May 5, 1936 and was a son of Leon Wylie Lee and Vernelle Byars Lee. He retired from Springs Industries in 1999 after 45 years of service in the Human Relations Department. Roy married his wife, Peggy Hewitt Lee October 27, 1957. Through the years they have lived in Fort Mill, SC, Lake Wateree, SC, Laurens, SC and back to Fort Mill. Roy was a member of Laurens First Baptist Church, Laurens, SC and the National Blue Bird Society. His hobbies were reading and watching for blue birds for over 50 years. In addition to his wife, Peggy, Roy is survived by a daughter, Crystal Lee Williamson (Doug) of Fort Mill; a son, Gary Roy Lee (Kelly) of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Thomas Williamson and Rebecca Williamson (Chad Stuver) of Fort Mill, Joshua Lee of Denver, CO, Christina Lee of Richmond, VA and Matthew Lee (Margaret) of Birmingham, AL and Jacob Lee of Atlanta, GA; great grandchildren, Gannon, Lily, Bayne and Kinsley Raine Stuver all of Fort Mill, SC; a brother, Rev. M. Earl Lee (Barbara) of Foley, AL; two nephews and their families in Alabama; his stepmother, Minnie L. Lee of Chester; and a stepsister, Linda L. Graham of Chester.
