Mr. Roy Coleman Houston, 78, died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Medical University of Charleston.The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Linda Jenkins officiating.The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 19, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Barron Funeral Home. The interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Born February 3, 1932 in Danville, VA, Mr. Houston was the son of the late William Garfield Houston and Delcina Kirby Houston.He was a graduate of Chester High School and was a retired supervisor with Springs Industries.He formerly served in the SC Army National Guard and was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.He was the widower of Emily Jane West. He is survived by one daughter, Vickie H. Miller of Chester; two sons, Coleman ?Gene? Houston of Wytheville, VA and Tim Houston of Chester; five grandchildren, Emily M. Diggs of Chester, Steve Miller of Rock Hill, Tracey Pendergrass of Chester, Sc, Colene Houston of Union, SC and Michael Houston of Chester, SC; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe Houston of Chester, SC and one sister, Betty Sue Sansone of Tucson, AZ.
