Rosalie Wyman Whitesides CHESAPEAKE, VA: Mrs. Rosalie Wyman Whitesides, 94,died Monday October 5, 2008 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center in Chesapeake, VA. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the graveside at Old Purity Cemetery with the Rev. Barry Dagenhart officiating. Mrs. Whitesides was born in Denmark, SC on January 8, 1914, a daughter of the late Dr. Joseph Wentworth Wyman and Ann Maybank Wyman.She was a graduate of Queens College in Charlotte, NC and retired from Chester County School District after 34 years as an elementary school teacher. Mrs. Whitesides faithfully and lovingly served as a member of Purity Presbyterian Church for many years.She was the widow of Robert Fred Whitesides. Surviving are two sons, Dr. Robert F. Whitesides and wife Melba of Florence, SC and Joel W. Whitesides and wife Rita of Rock Hill, SC; two daughters,Clara Williamson and husband Charles Williamson of Arlington, VA and Judy Abrahams and husband Clark of Cary, NC; four grandchildren, Wyman Whitesides, Brad Abrahams and wife Candice, Laura Whitesides, and Mary Frampton Whitesides. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.
