Ronald Arthur Wingate

Mr. Ronald Arthur Wingate, 75, died Monday, March 11, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Orr’s Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Wightman officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the social hall of the church.

Mr. Wingate was born April 2, 1948 in Chester, SC and was a son of the late David Wingate and Myrtle Bennett Taylor. He was a 1967 graduate of Chester High School and was employed with Zenith Engraving for over 40 years and later worked with Springs Industries. Ronnie loved golf and was an avid golfer; he worked with Chester Golf Club for several years. He was also a phenomenal gardener and enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labor with others. He was a lifelong member of Orr’s Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and sang in the choir.

He is survived by one son Bradley D. Wingate (Tim Judd) of Greenville, SC; one sister, Mildred Kilpatrick of Chester, SC and several brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 49 years and his childhood sweetheart Donna Wingate; his twin brother, Donald Wingate and his brother Douglas Wingate.
