CHESTER: Mr. Ronald Wayne “Ronnie” Jacobs, 65, died Sunday, February 2, 2014 at his residence.A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating.The interment will be private.The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Monday, February 3, 2014 at Barron Funeral Home. Born December 31, 1948 in Chester, SC, Ronnie was the son of the late Elbert McMillan Jacobs and Margaret Setzer Jacobs.He attended the schools of Chester County and was owner and operator of Jacobs Appliance and Refrigeration.Ronnie signed a minor league baseball contract with Philadelphia Phillies organization as a pitcher straight out of High School.He was proud of this accomplishment as it molded his life to become 1981 Pony League State Championship coach and also American Legion and Dixie Youth Baseball coach.Ronnie was proud to be able to impact the lives of young people and adults alike as he shared his talents of coaching and his passion for baseball. He is survived by his fiancé Beth Harris; two sons, Donnie Jacobs and his wife Leslie and Kevin Jacobs and his wife Alexa all of Chester; six grandchildren, Dillon, Kyle, Hunter, Tyler, Savannah and Mikayla Jacobs. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Jacobs McNinch.
