Roger Hall Atkinson, Jr.

Roger Hall Atkinson, Jr., 52, died Monday, February 3, 2025, at his home.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Armenia Methodist Church with Rev. Bryan Meares and Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Barron Funeral Home.

Hall was born February 28, 1972 in Chester SC and was a son of Roger Hall Atkinson, Sr. and Margie Lea Banks Atkinson.  He was a graduate of Chester High School and  Spartanburg Methodist College where he played golf. Hall was a member of the Golf Course Association of America.  He received many awards from the Audubon Society for keeping his golf course environmentally friendly.  He was also owner and operator of Carolina Outdoor Services.  Hall was Director and Superintendent of Chester Golf Course.  He also continued to do maintenance for the Academy of Teaching and Learning.  Hall loved hunting, fishing and Huey Racing.  He was active in baseball and archery.  Hall was an active member of Armenia Methodist Church where he was Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of over 23 years, Wendy Greene Atkinson; two children, Roger Hall "H.A," Atkinson, III (Olivia) and Aldon Banks Atkinson both of Chester, SC; one brother, Robert Waddell Atkinson (Nikki) of Prosperity, SC; a niece, Mackenzie Greene of Chester, SC; two aunts, Dianne Banks Huey (Jimmy) of Blackstock, SC and Sylvia Lacy of England; and his mother-in-law, Wanda Greene of Chester, SC.
