Robert Walker Wilkes

Chester:Robert Walker Wilkes, Jr., 87, died Thursday, February 10, 2011 at his home. A gravesideservice will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend David Sealy officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. Mr. Wilkes was born May 30, 1923 in Chester County, SC,a son of the late Robert Walker Wilkes, Sr. and Mary Kluttz Wilkes. He was a graduate of the schools of Chester County and a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp having served during World War II. Mr. Wilkes was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church and a retired farmer and welder and pipe fitter. He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Catherine B. Wilkes; one daughter, Robbie W. Estes and her husband Larry H. Estes of Chester, SC and two sisters, Eliza W. Means of Sunset Beach, NC and Mary W.
