Robert Murphy Stevenson

Chester Robert Murphy Stevenson, 77, of 611 Hilltop Drive, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Chester Regional Medical Center. A native of Chester, Mr. Stevenson was born December 24, 1936 son of the late West Clarkson Stevenson, Sr. and the late Anna Ruth MacLauchlin Stevenson. He retired from Springs Industries as Mechanical Engineer and was a member of Chester A.R.P church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother West Clarkson “Buck” Stevenson, Jr. Surviving are his wife Elizabeth Anne Fraser Stevenson; a son Robert Fraser Stevenson and his wife Cheryl; daughter Ruthanne Stevenson Levister and her husband Mike; three grandchildren Joshua and Joseph Stevenson and Caleb Levister. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00pm at Chester A.R.P church with Reverend Clint Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until the hour of service on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Chester A.R.P. church, 109 Wylie Street, Chester, SC 29706
