CHESTER, SC Mr. Robert James Nash, Sr, 88, died Saturday,August 2, 2014 at the Chester Regional Medical Center.The funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Eric Shepard officiating.The interment will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2014 at Barron Funeral Home. Born October 7, 1925 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, Mr. Nash was a son of the late Evans David Nash and Gladys Brooks Nash.He was a graduate of LaCrosse High School, LaCrosse, VA and attended Smithdale-Massey Business College, Richmond, VA.Mr. Nash was a retired department manager of Campus Sportswear.He was a WWII US Navy Veteran and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Men’s Bible Class and former Sunday School Secretary.He was a former member of the Administrative Board and instrumental in the renovation of the windows in Bethel United Methodist Church.He was also past president of Dixie Youth Baseball. He is survived by his wife of over sixty-four years, Elizabeth Shaw Nash; two sons, Robert James Nash, Jr. and his wife Rachel of North Charleston, SC and William Evans Nash and his wife Nicki of Edgemoor, SC; six grandchildren, Laura Moran (Patrick) of Woodstock, GA, Jason StuartNash (Nikki) of Washington, PA,Brady Edward Nash of Rock Hill, SC, Evan Bennett Nash, Rorie James Amos and Addie McBrayer Amos all of Edgemoor, SC.He was preceded in death by two brothers, Evans David Nash, Jr. and Edwin Brooks Nash.
