Chester Mr. Robert Melvin McWatters, Sr.,80, died Thursday, June 1, 2017 in Rock Hill, SC.A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ed Melvin officiating.Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Barron Funeral Home. Born October 1, 1936 in Richburg, SC, Mr. McWatters was a son of the late Johnny James McWatters and Bessie Jeanette Quinton McWatters.He was a graduate of Lewisville High School and retired from USF Holland as a truck driver.Mr. McWatters served in the S. C. Army National Guard and a member of Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church.Bob was also a member of Knox Station Band and drove the bus for York YMCA. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Bigham McWatters; one son, Robert M. McWatters, Jr. of Chester, SC; three brothers, Grady McWatters of Gilbert, SC, Gene McWatters of Charlotte, NC, and Jesse McWatters of Richburg, SC; two sisters, Minnie McWatters of Richburg, SC and Eva Simmers of Rock Hill, SC; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.Mr. McWatters was preceded in death by his first wife, Gaynelle Love McWatters; his son, Kelly McWatters; five brothers, James, Clarence, Dewey, Albert, and Carl McWatters; and his sister, Elizabeth King.
