Robert Henry Lindsay

Lancaster, SC:Robert Henry Lindsay, Jr., 78, died Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Springs Memorial Hospital, Lancaster. A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Barron Funeral Home with Reverend Mary Green officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, June I, 2014 at Barron Funeral Home from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM. Interment will be held in Chester Memorial Gardens. Mr. Lindsay was born in Chester, SC on September 30, 1935. He was a son of the late Robert H. Lindsay, Sr. and Mary Owens Lindsay. He was a graduate of Chester High School and a veteran of the U.S. Naval Reserves. Mr. Lindsay was retired from Duke Power anda member of The Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Lancaster, SC where he served on numerous committees and was also actively involved in scouting. He is survived by his wife of over fifty-five years, Doris Grant Lindsay; two sons, David Michael Lindsay of Lancaster, SC and Robert Scott Lindsay and his wife Marcia of Columbia, SC; five grandchildren, Michael Grant Lindsay, Megan Elizabeth Lindsay and Matthew Charles Lindsay all of Chester, VA and Ashford Scott Lindsay and Grant Robert Lindsay both of Columbia, SC; one sister, Betty Lindsay Revels and her husband, Alfred of Chester, SC and numerous nieces and nephews.
