Robert Ernest "Bobby" Lawson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Ernest “Bobby” Lawson, 81, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother on April 28, 2025.  Born January 30, 1944, in Chester, SC, he was the son of the late Robert Smith Lawson and Vera Roach Lawson

Bobby is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Vicki Lawson; his son Robert Lawson, daughter-in-law Wendy Lawson, and his cherished grandchildren, Nora-Ashley Lawson and Brandon Lawson, all of Chester. He also leaves behind his brother, Donnie Lawson (Patsy); his sisters, Linda Blanchett (Robert); and Phyllis Caughman (Tommy); along with numerous nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Berry Lawson.

He attended Chester High School and Clemson University.  Bobby attended Chester Freedom Ministries. Bobby had a passion for golf, enjoyed spending time at the beach, and loved shag dancing.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday, May 1 at Chester Freedom Ministries, with the funeral service immediately following officiated by Reverend Steve Bishop. Interment will be at Lando Cemetery, SC. Pallbearers: Bryan Lawson, Travis Lawson, Duncan Blanchett, Shane Blanchett, Luke Blanchett and Donnie Beckwith.
