Robert Douglas Knox

Richburg, SC: Robert Douglas Knox, 96, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Chester Regional Medical Center. A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 5, 2012 in Evergreen Cemetery with Reverend Trey Heger officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. Born May 1, 1916 in Chester, SC, Mr. Knox was the son of the late James Wilson Knox and Alice Gertrude Wise Knox.He is a graduate of Chester High School and retired from Rock Hill Printing and Finishing. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII with the rank of Tech Sergeant.He was a photo lab chief, and he processed the film of the aerial photos used to redraw the maps of Europe after the war.Mr. Knox was a member of Purity Presbyterian Church.
