Richburg Mr. Robert Lee Horne, Jr., 66, died Monday, January 30, 2023, at MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Mt. Prospect United Methodist Church, 2543 Mtn. Gap Rd., Richburg, SC with Rev. Justin Phillips and Rev. Donnie Tillman officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall of Mt. Prospect UMC. Interment will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Rose Hill Cemetery, E. Liberty St. (E US-76), Marion, SC. Mr. Horne, son of Robert Lee Horne and the late Patricia Pressley Meyer, was born July 2, 1956 in Chester, SC and was a graduate of Marion High School, Marion, SC. He was retired from Walmart as Automotive Service Manager. Robert was an ordained minister and a spreader of the Good News of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was a great father and family man. His family was his heart. Robert was also a handyman who could fix anything – a jack of all trades. In addition to his father, Robert and stepmother, Pam Horne, he is survived by one son, Traye Horne (Jennifer) of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren, Margaret and Charlotte Horne of Columbia, SC, his fiance, Peggy Swindell of Lancaster, SC; five sisters, Roxanne Furr and Tammy Ernandez both of Richburg, SC, Cindy Campbell (Brian) of Indian Land, SC, Rose Allman (Alan) of Denver, NC, Cheryl Johnston of Virginia Beach, VA and Candy Barden (David) of Orangeburg, SC; four brothers, Thomas Horne (Tammy) and Lyn Trader (Kristy) both of Rock Hill, SC, Bobby Lucas (Brenda) of Great Falls, SC and Bobby Horne (Dawn) of Virginia Beach, VA; his stepfather, Greg Meyer of Summerville, SC; a stepson, Richard Humphries (Michelle); his special friend, Zeddie Hammond of Lancaster, SC; three uncles he loved as his brothers, Ted Horne, Wayne Horne (Evelyn) and Blaine Horne (Terri); two aunts he loved as sisters, Virginia Hunter and Nell Walker (Rock); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Shaw Horne and his second wife, Sharon Phillips Horne; his brother-in-law, Jimmy Shaw; his maternal grandparents, E.W. and Margaret Pressley; his paternal grandparents, Tom “Pop” and Mary Horne; and his aunt that he loved as his sister, Dayla Horne.
