Robert Lawrence Doster

CHESTER: Mr. Robert Lawrence Doster, Sr., 96, died Monday, March 30, 2015 at his residence.A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Chester Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jeff Gulish and Rev. Keith Doster officiating.The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside and other times at the home. Born April 6, 1918 in Chester County, Mr. Doster was the son of the late John T. and Sarah McCarley Doster.He attended the schools of Chester County and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World II and survived the Battle of the Bulge.Mr. Doster was also a veteran of the South Carolina Army National Guard.He was retired from Springs Industries and was a member of West Chester Baptist Church where he was a trustee and also a Deacon.Mr. Doster was a former Little League Baseball Coach. He is survived by his wife of over sixty-seven years, Anne Brantley Doster; two sons, Robert Larry Doster (Debbie) of Chapin, SC and Brian Keith Doster (Sharon) of Huntingdon, PA; one daughter, Robin Doster Odom (Brian) of Pinebluff, NC; five grandchildren, Lauren Doster Gonzales, Brian Joseph Doster, Joanna Doster Boettinger, Katherine Odom George and Wendy Odom Wyler and seven great grandchildren.Mr. Doster was preceded in death by three granddaughters, Stephanie A. Doster, Christina Joy Doster and Rachel June Doster and a daughter-in-law Sandra B. Doster.
