Robert Pickens Caldwell

Chester Mr. Robert Pickens Caldwell, 74, died Monday, February 21, 2022 at MUSC Chester Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 26, 2022 at First Baptist Church Chester with Rev. Clay Waldrip and Mr. Mark Wyatt officiating. Interment will follow at Chester Memorial Gardens with full Fireman Honors and Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, February 25, 2022 at Barron Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter Robin Davis. Mr. Caldwell was born June 13, 1947 in Chester, SC. and was a son of the late Frank Ross Caldwell, Jr. and Martha Elizabeth Gregory Caldwell. He was a graduate of Chester High School and York Tech. Robert was a certified master plumber and owner and operator of C &C plumbing. He was also a retired volunteer fireman having serviced with the Chester City Fire Department for over 47 years and also assisted with other fire departments throughout Chester County. He was former President of Chester Shrine Club and was a mason. Robert was an avid fisherman and thoroughly enjoyed competing and winning numerus fishing tournaments. He was a member of First Baptist Church Chester. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janet Helms Caldwell; two children, Robin Caldwell Davis (Donny) of Chester, SC and Amy Caldwell Robinson (Tony) of Rock Hill, SC; six grandchildren, Kimberlee, Kristen, Cassidy, Justin, Trinity and Adalynn; numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly and took pride in; cousin, Betty Ann Dilworth of Chapin, SC.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Robert Joseph Caldwell; one granddaughter, Courtney Noelle Davis; one great-granddaughter, Lakelynn Noelle Clayton; two brothers, Frank Ross Caldwell, III and William “Gus” Augustus Caldwell; one sister, Mary Caldwell Wyatt. The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to Lovett Stroud, Michael Stroud and Chris and Pam Williams who loved Robert and helped and supported him throughout his career.
