Robert Buttermilk Brown

LAKE WATEREE, SC Mr. Robert Kenneth ?Buttermilk? Brown, of Deer Run Road, Lake Wateree, passed away on July 18, 2009, after a period of declining health. Mr. Brown, a native of Chester, was born on July 3, 1932.He was the son of the late Robert Neely Brown and Margaret Dove Brown Leitner.He was a graduate of Chester High School andthe University of South Carolina and served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.He worked in banking for several years before returning to Chester where he owned and operated RK Brown Construction Company.He was a member of First Baptist Church of Chester. Mr. Brown is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Joyce Benton Brown and their two daughters, Kathryn B. Rowell and husband, Bob, of Spartanburg; Carolyn B. Pearsall and husband, Ken, of Lake Wateree; one son, Robert ?Rob? Brown and wife, Tracy, of Chester, SC.He is also survived by five grandchildren; Andrew and Nicholas Rowell, Neely Pearsall, and Tyler and Sarah Elizabeth Brown. Funeral services will be held graveside at Armenia United Methodist Church cemetery Tuesday, July 21, 2009at 11:00 A.M. Visitation for friends will be held Monday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street in Chester from 6:00 ? 7:30 P.M.
