CHESTER Mr. Robert Allen ?Bobby? Norton, 55, died Monday, May 2, 2011 at his home.The funeral service will be 3:00 PM Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Arthur Vick and Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 1:30 ? 3:00 PM at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Bobby was born on October 20, 1955 in St. Petersburg, FL and was the son of the late Richard and Ruth Ann Threatt Norton.He was proud to be a graduate of Chester High School Class of 1975 and the 2011 graduating class of York Technical College.He was employed with Superior Essex until the plant closed in 2009.He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church where he was a sound technician.Bobby enjoyed Braves baseball, flower gardening and photographing his family and was a proud Eagle Scout. He is survived by his wife of twenty-six years, Dianne Woodward Norton; one daughter, Teresa Williford and her husband Russell, two granddaughters, Rosemary D. Williford, and Breanna L. Williford; two sisters, Linda Craig and Karen Roach and her husband Johnny and several nieces and nephews all of Chester.He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Allen Norton, Jr. Memorials may be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church Prayer Garden or the Roofing Fund, 1217 J.A.
