Robert Sloan " Bobby" Banks

Chester Mr. Robert Sloan “Bobby” Banks, 93, died Tuesday, December 25, 2018, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Beaver Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Terry B. Wingate and Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday at his home. Mr. Banks was born October 21, 1925 in Fairfield County, SC and was a son of the late Robert Sloan Banks and Rebecca Lewis Banks. He was a 1941 graduate of Blackstock High School, a farmer and was employed with Carlisle Printing and Finishing. Mr. Banks was a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. One of his favorite hobbies was attending auctions, buying, selling and collecting “merchandise.” He is survived by three daughters; Dianne B Huey (Jimmy) of Blackstock, Margie B. Atkinson (Roger) of Columbia, SC, Nancy L. Banks (Fiancé Jake) of Blackstock; seven grandchildren Mike Huey (Michelle) of Chester, Jamie Ellison (Melanie) of Chester, Hall Atkinson (Wendy) of Chester, Mark Huey (Georgi) of Blackstock, Robert Atkinson (Nikki) of Prosperity, SC, Sarah Beth Clowney (Bill) of Blair, SC, Robbie Huey (Tammy) of Blackstock; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; one sister, Estelle B. Shirley of Blackstock, SC. Mr. Banks was preceded in death by his wife Sarah Gwin Banks; one son Robbie Banks; two great-grandsons (Kyle Ellison and Johnathan Baker) one sister, Mary B.
