Robert Bundy Adkins

Chester Mr. Robert Bundy Adkins, 81, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Woodward Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Hinson and Mr. Jamie Jennings officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the social hall of the church and other times at the home of Lisa and Jamie Jennings, 2153 New Hope Church Road, Chester, SC 29706. The family requests that you please wear a mask and social distance at the visitation and at the funeral. Mr. Adkins was born June 11, 1939 in Rock Hill, SC and was a son of the late George Walker Adkins and Lillie Mae Kennedy Adkins. He attended the schools of Rock Hill and he formerly worked for J.P. Stevens and Gene’s Village Rental and finally with GAF security.Bundy enjoyed reading and drawing and he always enjoyed a good joke. He is survived by one son, Kenneth Adkins of Charlotte, NC; three step-daughters, Lou Wishert, Paula Chapman and Tena Templeton (D) all of Chester; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; special friend and companion, Linda Hudson of Chester, SC; sister, Louise Ashley of Chester, SC; brothers Paul Adkins (Joyce) of Rock Hill, SC and William Adkins (Peggy) both of Rock Hill, SC; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Lou Weaver Adkins and his son Robert William “Bobby” Adkins. Memorials may be made to Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 28731.
