CHESTER Mr. Richard Gene Loftis, 37, died Friday, April 12, 2013.A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, SC with Rev. Andy Logan officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the home of his sister Sherri Price, 1000 Langley Drive, Chester. Born January 28, 1976 in Gaffney, SC, Mr. Loftis was a son of Ricardo Paul Loftis and Jeannette Foster Loftis of Chester.He was a graduate of Chester High School and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.He was employed by Dollar General Warehouse in the shipping and receiving department. In addition to his parents he is survived by one son, Jacob Paul Loftis and one daughter, Destiny Michelle Loftis both of York, SC; two brothers, Paul Loftis and his wife Nikki and Jeff Loftis and his wife Christina all of Chester; two sisters, Sherri Price and her husband Joey of Chester and Treasa Eifert and her husband Frank of Irmo, SC; paternal grandmother, Thelma Loftis of Chester; maternal grandmother, Martha Garrett of Blacksburg, SC and numerous nieces and nephews.
