Richard Pierce Dalton

Mr. Richard Pierce Dalton, Jr, 75, died Monday, February 2, 2009 at his residence. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday at Chester Memorial Gardens with Rev. Donald Scoggins and Rev. Don Etters officiating. Born March 30, 1933 in Greer, SC, Mr. Dalton was the son of the late R. Pierce Dalton, Sr. and Sallie Pack Dalton.He attended the schools of Chester County and was a US Navy veteran during the Korean War. He was a former manager of Winn Dixie and was retired from Essex as a department manager and attended St. Paul Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife, Geneva Blackwell Dalton; one son, Scott Dalton of Chester; one daughter, Lori D. McNinch of Chester; one grandson, Wes McNinch of Chester; five sisters, Margaret Hope, Christine Lemmons, Myrtle Womack and Viola Armstrong all of Chester and Betty Bishop of Columbia, SC.He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Jones and Bobby Dalton and one sister, Dot Gregory. The family will receive friends from 1:00 ? 1:45 Wednesday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St reet, Chester.
