On March 16, 2026, at 11:11pm, Renee left her Earthly home and entered Heaven dancing and was embraced in the arms of Jesus.
Visitation will be held at 3:00pm, March 21, 2026 at Woodward Baptist Church (1570 Ashford Rd, Chester, SC 29706) with A Celebration of Life to follow at 4:30pm with Reverend Keith Hinson and Reverend Scott Sherrill officiating.
Renee was born in Greenwood, SC on February 9, 1959, to the late Robert L. McMurray and Patsy Bryant Young. She spent the younger part of her years in Greenwood and loved to be around family and spend time on Lake Greenwood where she learned to water ski. Renee moved to Chester, SC in 1970 where she attended the schools of Chester County. She loved traveling, moving around to various states throughout life with her favorite being Alaska, calling Anchorage her home for about 5 years. While in Anchorage, she met lifelong friends and earned an associate’s degree from Anchorage Community College. Renee eventually moved back to South Carolina in the 80s and worked in the administrative department for Piedmont Medical Center for several years and then did clerical, billing, and office work for various other companies afterwards. Renee was witty with computers in her younger years, she was a quick learner, loved music, and loved doing crafts. Renee had a spunky personality, a social butterfly, and it was never an odd thing to catch her dancing when she was able. She was the proud wife of a United States Air Force Veteran and an auxiliary member of the Chester chapter of the Disabled American Veterans. Renee attended Woodward Baptist Church where she was a member for over 30 years. Though many health problems debilitated her at a young age, she loved being able to attend church on Sunday and Wednesday as well as other functions, especially going to the Beach with the “Salty Saints.” Renee loved family, friends, and church and was always happiest surrounded by those closest to her.
Renee is preceded in death by her parents and her 2nd dad Roy W. Young, her maternal and paternal grandparents Tommie Jones and Sarah Bryant and Lt. Col. Russell and Laura McMurray, aunts and uncles Billy and Darlene Rish, Jack and Vivian Bishop, Tom and Laura Hookanson, George McMurray and a cousin Carol Bryant.
She is survived by her husband Charles “ChuckE” Wade of Chester, a daughter Jami Cameron of Chester, a bonus son David Wade (Dani) of Abilene, TX, 3 bonus grandsons Cameron, Carter, and Charlie, sisters Judy Butler (Hugh) of Dewy Rose, GA, Lethea Y. Parker (Rod) of Easley, SC, a brother Rob McMurray (Tammy) of Seattle, WA, an uncle Tommie Jones Bryant Jr. (Audrey) of Greenwood, SC, along with several nieces and nephews, cousins, close friends, and church family.
The family appreciates all the help and support from the Heart of Hospice in Lancaster, SC and Dr. Paladuqa’s wonderful team. We also appreciate the members of Woodward Baptist Church and their support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either of the following in memory of Renee McMurray Wade;
