Union Mr. Randal Banks “ Goober” Johnson Sr., 66, died Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Spartanburg HospitalFor Restorative Care. A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM, Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Padgett Creek Baptist Church Fellowship Hall with Mr. Timmy Copeland officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Padgett Creek Baptist ChurchFellowship Hall in Union, SC. He was born June 9, 1952 in Chester and was a son of the late Luther Johnson and Ruth Robbins Johnson.He was a member of Fountain of Life Church of God and was formerly employed with Masco Metal Buildings and also Springs industries. Mr. Johnson was a former member of a bowling league and played drums and sang with a local band. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of over 45 yearsJanet Copeland Johnson; one son, Randal Banks Johnson, Jr.(Danell) of Union; one daughter, Shellie Green of Colorado; five grandchildren, Samantha Green, Brian Green Lindsay Johnson, Dustin Johnson all of Union and Jordan DeMarco (Desoray) of Hartsville; and six great grandchildren; two brothers Ronnie Johnson (Nancy) of Chester, and Wayne Elwell, Jr. (Debra) of Union; one sister Becky Roof of Chester; numerous nieces and nephews.
