CHESTER Mr. Pressley Thomas Gibson, Sr., 87, died Friday, August 2, 2013 at his residence.The funeral will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, August 5, 2013 at Westside Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Fowler officiating.The interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday at Barron Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter Jeanette Robinson, 518 Gage Street, Chester. Born December 10, 1925 in Great Falls, SC, Mr. Gibson was a son of the late William Henry Gibson and Daisy Scott Gibson Hinson.He attended the schools of Great Falls and was retired from Springs Industries with over thirty-five years of service.He enjoyed the outdoors by gardening and caring for God’s creation. He is survived by two daughters Jeanette G. Robinson and her husband Robby of Chester and Judy G. Croft and her husband Melvin of Blackstock, SC; one son, Pressley T. “Tommy” Gibson, Jr and his wife Jean of Rock Hill, SC; a grandson whom he reared Chucky Pelkey of Chester; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; one sister, Betty “Panny” Horton of Great Falls, SC and two brothers, Bill Hinson of Great Falls,SC and Curtis Hinson of Rock Hill, SC.He was preceded in death by his wife of over fifty-two years Connie Reid Gibson and a daughter Shirley Gibson McMahan.
