Phillip Reid (Phil) Stephenson

CHESTER, SC: Mr. Phillip Reid “Phil” Stephenson, 65, died January 29, 2020 at Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC. The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 1 at Chester Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church with Rev. Clint Davis and Dr. Dwight Pearson officiating.The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Saturday, February 1, 2020 in the Barron room of the Chester A.R.P. Church.The interment will be in Sharon ARP Church Cemetery in Sharon, S.C. Born September 29, 1954 in York County, SC, Mr. Stephenson was a son of the late Walter Lee Stephenson and Annie Westmoreland Stephenson.He was a graduate of York High School.He was employed with Chester County as the auto maintenance supervisor.Phil was former owner of By-Pass Exxon.He was a member of Chester Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church where he was a former Deacon and an usher.Phil was an avid Clemson Tiger Fan and enjoyed attending all their home games. He is survived by his companion of over twenty years, Susan Oates; two daughters, Ashley Brooke Gonzales (Rick) and Brantlee Stephenson both of Rock Hill, SC; six grandchildren, Aiden Roberts, Zeb Gonzales, Hayes Rawdon, Lennox Rawdon, Carmen Oates, John Carson Oates; two brothers, Bobby Stephenson (Judy) of Sharon, SC and David Stephenson of Clover, SC; several nieces and nephews and an aunt Virginia Harris of Sharon, SC.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Luca Gonzales.
