IT IS NOW 11:00 AM MONDAY, JUNE 26, 2023 WITH VISITATION TO FOLLOW IN THE SOCIAL HALL Blackstock Mrs. Peggy Adell Young Boyd, 87, died Thursday, June 22, 2023, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 26, 2023, at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Hallman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following in the social hall of the church. Mrs. Boyd was born March 27, 1936 in Chester County, SC and was a daughter of the late Edward Young and Bernice Gibson Young. She was a graduate of Great Falls High School and was retired as a supervisor from Cinderella Mills in Great Falls. Peggy enjoyed shelling and cracking pecans as a hobby. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church. Peggy is survived by her husband of 66 years, George B. Boyd; two children, Kathryn Bellue (Ricky) of Blackstock, SC and Michael Boyd (Tayna) of Chester, SC; six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; four sisters, Pauline Smith of Charlotte, NC, Ellen Watson of Charlotte, NC, Carol Campbell (Banks) of Jefferson, SC and Jane Hughes of Simpsonville, SC; one brother, Wylie Young (Linda) of Great Falls, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Bellue; a brother, Robert Young; and two sisters, Rosanna McKinsey and Marylou Sanders.
