GREENVILLE, SC: Mrs. Pauline Grant “Polly” Thompson, 101, died Monday, January 16, 2017 at her residence. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Armenia United Methodist Church Cemetery in Chester, SCwith Rev. Eric Shepard officiating.The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service. Born November 11, 1915 in Chester County, SC, Mrs. Thompson was a daughter of the late J. Graham Grant and Bessie Hudson Grant and the widow of Henry M. Thompson. She was retired from Enro Shirt Company and was a member of Emma Gray Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir, a church trustee, a member of Theresa Surink Sunday School Class, and the Joy Club.Mrs. Thompson was also a member of the Golden Age Group of First Baptist Church of Woodruff, SC and a member of the Chester Historical Society, Chester, SC. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert (Bob) J. and Jan Thompson of The Villages, Florida and Jimmy (Jim) G. and Carol Thompson of Greenville, SC and numerous nieces and nephews. Polly was the last surviving member of her family. Memorials may be made to Armenia United Methodist Church,2840 Armenia Road, Chester, SC 29706.
