David Waldrep

Paul David Waldrep, of Chester, South Carolina, peacefully passed away on July 18, 2026, at the age of 74 surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Chester with Rev. Clay Waldrip and Rev. Jacob Waldrip officiating.  Interment will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. the funeral service following at 3:00 p.m. at the church.

Born on October 5, 1951, in Woodruff, South Carolina, David was the son of the late Paul Donald Waldrep and Peggy Simmons Waldrep. He lived a life marked by faith, service, hard work and devotion to his family.

David was a proud graduate of Chester High School, Class of 1970. He continued his education at Spartanburg Methodist College and USC Lancaster. Throughout his career, he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. He retired from Omnova Solutions where he worked in purchasing and later retired as Manager of The Budd Group.

A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Chester, David served the Lord in many capacities over the years. He was a former Deacon, Sunday School teacher, member of the mission team and actively supported the church's youth ministry. His unwavering faith and servant's heart touched the lives of many within his church and community.

Above all, David cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Trudy Revis Waldrep; his son, William Samuel Preston Waldrep (Blair); his treasured granddaughter, Adalynne Belle Waldrep; his brother, Marvin Waldrep (Lori); his sisters, Suzanne McKeown and Lynne Clack (Donny); along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

David will be remembered for his steadfast faith, quiet strength, generous spirit, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy of kindness, service, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
