CHESTER:Mr. Paul Gibson Iveydied Thursday June 11, 2009 at Chester Regional Medical Center.He was 84. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Wilksburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Cecil Johnson officiating.Interment with Masonic rites will follow at Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Born December 25, 1924 in Union County, SC, Mr. Ivey was a son of the late Cager S. and Lula Woolen Ivey. He was a graduate of Union High School, a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, and a member of Wilksburg Baptist Church.Mr. Ivey was a past master of Lockhart Masonic Lodge #244. Surviving are his wife Mary Porter Ivey; sons, Russell Ivey and his wife Linda of Blackstock and Richard Dennis Ivey and his wife Lisa of Aiken, SC; a daughter, Jill Ball and her husband Kevin of Indian Trail, NC; and sisters, Virginia Layman of Waynesville, NC and Polly Williams of North, SC.He is also survived by four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.Mr. Ivey was preceded in death by a son, Larry Michael Ivey. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 Friday evening at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester. Condolences to the family may also be made to www.barronfuneralhome.com.
